What a busy couple of weeks !!
Thank you to all of you who came to the Meet the Teacher session, and for being so understanding when the fire alarm went off. If you have any further questions or need a chat please let me know.
Our day at Pendennis Castle was a great success. We has a wonderful time dressing up and learning all about how people lived back when Henry VIII built the castle. We were very lucky that Cornwall Heritage Trust covered all our transport costs, which was why the cost for the trip was so low.
Our work on dragons continues !!! Finding the dragon eggs in the Jungle caused great excitement, and the newly decorated eggs look amazing. The eggs and their nests will come home soon, so let me know if any hatch !!
Just some advanced warning, that we will be having a "Let's Read Together" session on Thursday 12th October at 2.30pm. Our school book fair will be in from Monday 9th October, so please support this, as we do really benefit from the extra books we receive.
A huge welcome to all the children and families. Mrs Evans (that's me!!) and  Mrs Dennis  are really enjoying working with your children.
Thank you for the fabulous castles homework you have brought in. We really appreciate the time you have taken over the Summer.
It was great welcoming so many members of the royal household this morning. Everyone looked fantastic !!
We are really looking forward to our trip to Pendennis Castle next week.
We will shortly be sending a date to you for our "Meet the Teacher" session, and I hope to see lots of you then.
What a truly inspirational day we had with Niki Willows down on Porthtowan beach. The areas of learning we covered were fabulous and the team work between the children was amazing.

The Year 1 monsters headed to Nursery this morning to share their brand new "That's Not My Monster" books. We will be off to Nursery tomorrow afternoon so watch out for pictures of the Year 1 authors sharing their books.
At the beginning of the Spring term we learned the story of the Gruffalo and turned into animal detectives.  We found out how we sort animals into different groups.  Marks Ark came to visit our class and we got to touch a baby barn owl - just like Plop.  We have been learning the story of the Gingerbread Man this term.  As well as retelling the story we have also learned how to be a TV chef.  We made gingerbread men and wrote the instructions which we then filmed.  We have been busy in science too learning about materials and what things around us are made out of them.
