On Wednesday 29th March, our football team had the final match of the season against Lanner. It was a high scoring match with both teams playing extremely well. Our team's practise has certainly paid off and they demonstrated some lovely passing skills. The final score was 8-5 to Pennoweth, putting us 2nd in the league. What a fantastic achievement!
On Wednesday 15th March, our football team went to Redruth School to play in their annual football tournament. Our team have had a great season so far and have really benefited from having weekly training sessions with the Plymouth Argyle Trust coaches. They won all but one of their matches, which was lost 1-0 to Trewirgie. This put them in 2nd place! We are so proud of our boys, not just because of their amazing football but because they were such great ambassadors for our school, showing great respect for the other teams, amazing teamwork and super behaviour.
On Friday 10th March, we organised a football match against Treleigh for some different children to play competitive football. It was great to see some new faces on the pitch and particularly good to see some girls playing. They played amazingly well and had such a great team spirit. They really used the moto 'Yes we can!'. The game was very even but Treleigh had more luck on the day and beat us 2-0. The children are looking forward to their next opportunity to play.
On Friday 3rd March, we had a rugby match against St Day. Our children played extremely well even when they had to play for the opposition who didn't have enough players. They worked well as a team, showed off all the skill they've acquired with their coaches this term, won the game and most importantly, had fun!
On Wednesday 1st March we took members of our netball club to a tournament at Redruth School. As well as showing a great improvement over the course of the afternoon, the children also showed tremendous team spirit and sportsmanship. They came joint 2nd. A great achievement! Well done everyone!
On Tuesday 21st February, we held our first house gymnastics competition. The children have all been developing their gymnastic skills in lessons and designed their own sequences to show off their skill. Every child in years 1-6 who wanted to could take part and it was amazing to see so many children choosing to compete. They showed courage, determination and great focus. The children who chose not to take part were fantastic as an audience, supporting and respecting all our performers. Congratulations to all involved- you did yourselves proud! Medals have been awarded to the girls and boys who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class and special awards were given to children who were noticed by their teachers as showing fantastic effort. The results for participation are:
1st - blue
2nd - red
3rd - yellow
4th - green
