School Day

School starts at 8:50am when registration and lessons take place.

School is open to pupils from 8:40am (unless attending Breakfast Club). We would ask that pupils do not arrive at school before 8:40am as there is no supervision available before that time. However, children attending Breakfast Club can do so from 7:45am where staff will be available to supervise them and provide a calm start to the day.

Pupils arriving after registration closes (8:50am) will be marked as late and are asked to sign a late book giving the reason for them having missed the start of lessons. We hope that you will do all that you can I supporting us to promote punctuality. Those pupils arriving after 9:20am will have the morning session marked as an unauthorised absence.

The morning consists of Read, Write, Inc (KS1) and Guided Reading (KS2) from 9:00 – 9:30am. Classes will then have a lesson (either English or Maths) from (9:30 – 10:30am).

During the morning, all children are given a mid-morning break for fifteen minutes and there is also an assembly every day – either as a whole school or Key Stage in the hall or in the classroom.

After assembly, children are then taught English or maths from 11:00 – 12.05pm.

Lunchtime starts at 12:05pm. Pupils eat lunch in the school hall whether they are a packed lunch or select a meal from the cafeteria.

Afternoon lessons commence at 1:00pm and children are taught foundation subjects, including: history, geography, ICT, PE, RE, PSHE and art.

Key Stage One pupils have an afternoon break of fifteen minutes from 2:00 – 2:10pm and then return to class for afternoon sessions.

At 3:05pm classes prepare to leave school, which finishes at 3:10pm. After school, we ask that parents/carers please collect children from Nursery, Reception, Year One and Year Two classes from their classrooms. All other classes are either dismissed through their external door or through the ‘library’ entrance of the school. We ask that parents/carers meeting pupils at the front of the school wait at the lower levels so that staff can see that all pupils leave safely.

We do have an After School Care Club. To find out more please follow the link.
